These are some simple answers to common questions we come across.

What accreditation do your courses have?

The Animal Behaviour Consultants of South Africa who are the registering authority for animal
behaviour consultants in Southern Africa recognise our courses as well as being accredited,
recognised and approved in the UK and Europe. To view Compass Education and Training

How is Pet Sense College connected to Compass Education and Training UK?

We are the exclusive representative of Compass in South Africa and we market and distribute their
courses. The Compass courses available in South Africa can be viewed on our website. We have selected a
few courses to start with and this collection will grow. The only difference is that you will be paying for your
courses in Rands to Pet Sense College and you will have a local tutor and administrator who can assist with
queries. Pet Sense College has merely made it easier for South African students to gain access to these
internationally recognised courses.

Will my certification come from Pet Sense College or Compass Education and Training?

Once your course is successfully completed, Compass will provide the certification.

Who will help guide my studying?

When you register, you will be allocated a personal tutor whose job is to mark your work and to provide
academic support and guidance if required. He or she will be available for one-to-one support and to answer
queries by phone or e-mail if you get stuck. All our tutors are experts in their fields and many also have
teaching qualifications and experience.

Can I get a hard copy (posted) version of this course?

No problem.

Can I pay in installments?

Sure. If you wish to spread the cost you can pay for each module as you complete them. Registration payment
is required upfront.

How does one go about paying for the course?

We accept cheque, debit and credit card payments via PayFast. You can also pay via EFT into our bank
account. Contact us for more info if you are ready to register.

How do I register?

Once you have decided to go ahead with a course, you can email us and we will send you a
registration form to fill once you’ve paid.

If I buy more than one course, do I get a discount?

Yes, ordering more than one course can lead to discounts.

When do the courses start?

There are no specific start dates as each student progresses at their own pace. You should be starting your
studies within two weeks of payment.

Are there any exams?

No. Compass Education and Training, our assessments are based entirely on your coursework.

Refunds Policy

ON THE RARE OCCASIONS WHEN STUDENTS CANNOT CONTINUE THEIR STUDIES A REFUND MAY BE MADE SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

  1. Registration fees paid in respect of Pet Sense College, and other awarding bodies are not

refundable.

  1. No module notes or books are returnable.
  2. Any books supplied will be charged at retail value.
  3. Any module notes provided will be charged at a rate appropriate to the price band for the

course, prices available on request.

  1. Any module that has had work submitted for marking will be deemed to have been completed

(even if returned for re-submission) and charged at the full rate.

  1. No charge will be made for postage.
  2. Any bank charges related to payments received or collected will be deducted from any refund

awarded. The right is reserved to levy an administration charge in all cases.

  1. In accordance with South African legislation on distance selling any claim for a refund must

be made within 30 days of the first module being despatched.

  1. Any student wishing to change course will be able to transfer any funds paid (subject to

conditions 2-6) at any stage within 6 months of the despatch of their first module. They will be required to re-register. It should be emphasized that claims for refund are very rare (less than 1 in 300 registrations at the last count) and these are usually due to the student’s circumstances changing dramatically as would be the case in serious long term ill health. Before asking for a refund after the 14 day period students are reminded that they have bought a product which, like any other product, cannot be returned for a refund after 14 days simply because you have decided that it no longer suits your requirements.
